Special Conditions Applying:
Requirement to be available to participate when required in emergency tree management procedures.

Reporting arrangements:
Reports directly to the Tree and Vegetation Manager.

Job Purpose:
To implement an effective, customer focused arboricultural management service ensuring the health and vitality of the City’s tree stock.

Duties and Responsibilities
Job Specific

1. To undertake tree inspections on a routine and responsive basis and prepare survey reports and other relevant data.

2. To, through the use of information technology record, store and retrieve survey and other relevant data.

3. To undertake tree risk assessments and identify work plans / priorities.

4. To assist with the preparation of tender documentation for the procurement of external services in accordance with contract standing orders and procurement rules.

5. To monitor the performance of sub and main contractors ensuring that services are delivered to timescales, to performance standards and within budget.

6. To investigate complaints and respond to enquiries and requests for service and correspond accordingly.

7. To identify, plan and prepare tree planting / renewal schemes for implementation.

8. To actively participate in the development and review of policy, strategy, guidelines, training, and procedures that relate to the arboricultural management function.

9. To provide advice, support, and guidance in respect of tree preservation orders, planning applications and enhancement / development schemes.

Full driving licence and use of your own vehicle .
