About the role:
As a Lead Risk Engineer in our gas construction team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of major gas infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for developing project risk profiles, facilitating risk workshops, performing quantitative Risk Analysis and providing regular risk reports to project stakeholders.
This position will report directly to the Senior Risk Engineer. You will possess a strong understanding of risk management methodologies and knowledge of relevant industry standards. You will challenge the available project details and obtain the relevant missing information to develop the assumptions, track progress and manage the relevant governance reviews and sign-offs.
Essential:
- Project risk management experience in the utilities industry, Interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management are essential for this role as you will be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of project management principles or project lifecycle
- Ability to interpret technical and cost information with a Full UK car driving license
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate risk workshops with internal and external stakeholders to gather the necessary data to discuss project requirements and carry out project risk assessments.
- Technical Skills: Experience in Quantitative Risk Assessments
- Data Management: Interpreted and generate risk reports
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or qualified by experience (risk management in construction projects)
- Professional Experience: Proven experience in project risk assessment, preferably within the utilities, gas construction industry or energy industry.
- Project Management Knowledge: Understanding of project management principles and the project lifecycle.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with various stakeholders.
