Butler Rose Public Practice are delighted to be supporting our client, a top accounting firm with fantastic offices based in Walsall, that are eager to appoint an ambitious AAT and/or ACCA part qualified accounts semi-senior to complement their award-winning business services department.

Role Requirements -

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end statutory financial reports I accordance with FRS102-1A, including consolidated accounts, from manual and computerised accounting records.
  • Prepare and review VAT Returns, including an understanding of partial exemption rules.
  • Delegate, supervise and review the work of junior members of the team, providing constructive feedback and support as necessary.
  • Provide general accounting services and assistance to clients in the preparation of accounts and VAT returns, for example preparing working papers for management or statutory accounts.
  • Recommend improvements to clients' accounting systems and controls and assist clients whenever needed.
  • Keep Managers and Partners (where necessary) informed of the progress on the team's jobs.

Person Requirements -

  • AAT and/or ACCA part qualified with 3+ years' experience in a similar semi-senior/trainee accountant role working for a prominent UK based accounting firm
  • Strong experience of year-end statutory accounts production, management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, specifically an understanding of FRS102 and FRS105
  • Strong academic achievement at A-Levels (120 UCAS points) and GCSEs (Maths & English at B/5+)
  • Excellent communication skills and confident meeting clients face to face.
