SCADA Engineer - T&D (Contract)
Location: UK & Europe (Onshore & Offshore roles available)
Contract Duration: 6-12 months
Start Date: ASAP
Job Overview:
We are working with an international OEM to recruit a SCADA Engineer for a contract opportunity focused on Transmission & Distribution (T&D) systems in the wind industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, integration, and maintenance of SCADA systems for wind farm projects, ensuring smooth operation and real-time monitoring of T&D systems from wind turbines to the grid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems for T&D infrastructure in onshore and offshore wind farms.
- Perform system integration testing (SIT) to ensure the SCADA system is properly integrated with electrical systems, including substations and grid connections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues, focusing on T&D infrastructure and wind farm network performance.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of SCADA systems to ensure reliable data collection, reporting, and real-time system control.
- Work closely with project teams, OEMs, and contractors to ensure SCADA systems meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for SCADA systems, including configuration reports, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance plans.
- Provide training and support to operations and maintenance teams on SCADA systems for T&D networks.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, safety procedures, and client specifications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with SCADA systems in T&D or renewable energy, ideally in the wind sector.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA software, control systems, and data management for T&D networks.
- Experience with system integration testing (SIT) and troubleshooting SCADA systems in electrical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with both onshore and offshore wind farm systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe.
- Offshore certification (e.g., BOSIET, CA-EBS) for offshore roles.
- Valid right to work in the UK and/or Europe.
