Commissioning Engineer - T&D (Contract)

Location: UK & Europe (Onshore & Offshore roles available)
Contract Duration: 6-12 months
Start Date: ASAP

Job Overview:
We are collaborating with an international OEM to hire a Commissioning Engineer for a contract opportunity focused on Transmission & Distribution (T&D) systems in the wind industry. The successful candidate will work on both onshore and offshore wind farm projects across the UK and Europe, overseeing the commissioning of electrical systems, including substations, high-voltage cables, transformers, and grid connections, ensuring systems are safely integrated and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the commissioning of electrical T&D systems for onshore and offshore wind farm projects.
  • Perform system integration testing (SIT) and ensure proper communication between T&D systems and wind turbines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues related to T&D infrastructure.
  • Review and verify commissioning documentation, including test reports, manuals, and system configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and project specifications during commissioning.
  • Provide on-site technical support during the installation and commissioning phases of T&D projects.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, maintenance schedules, and documentation for T&D systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in commissioning electrical T&D systems, preferably within the wind or renewable energy sector.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems such as substations, transformers, high-voltage cables, and grid connections.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, system integration testing (SIT), and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Experience with both onshore and offshore wind farm projects.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams and OEMs.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to various UK and Europe-based sites.
  • Offshore certification (e.g., BOSIET, CA-EBS) for offshore roles.
