Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join the North East Derbyshire (North) Adult Social Work Team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive community-based team that values agile and flexible working while delivering high-quality social care interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Care Act (2014) telephone and face-to-face assessments and reviews.
Work autonomously while maintaining timely recording of interventions to progress case management.
Develop strong professional relationships with partner agencies, including Health, Police, Housing, and the PVi sector.
Provide duty cover when required, ensuring a responsive and effective triage system.
Promote strength-based, person-centred approaches that maximise independence and well-being.
Manage a complex caseload while ensuring statutory duties are met in a safe, accountable, and cost-effective manner.
Lead on Section 42 Safeguarding, chair multi-agency meetings (e.g., Multi-Agency Adult Risk Management - MARM), and conduct Mental Capacity Act (2005) assessments including Best Interest meetings, COP-DOLs, and court work (training provided if needed).
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with valid Social Work England registration.
Strong knowledge and experience in Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding procedures.
Ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of accountability and case management efficiency.
Experience in multi-agency working and signposting to appropriate services.
Excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
