Role

Our Training team designs, creates and delivers training in measurement science, for learners in science and industry. 

We have designed and delivered accredited programmes of study, and our ‘Metrology Technician Apprenticeship’ is the UK’s first apprenticeship curriculum in measurement science. In addition, we provide coaching to industry to help improve their metrological delivery key performance indicators.

You will be based at our Teddington site and deliver training courses at customer sites throughout the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities:

-  Delivering apprenticeship training in a range of measurement areas
-  Providing wrap-around care for apprentices, including coaching and mentoring, and carrying out workplace reviews and observations
-  Delivering classroom training to industry
-  Developing your knowledge, skills and experience to stay up-to-date with information, theories and practice, especially in the field of educational practice and measurement science

Qualifications

    You will add to, and work with, the complementary skillsets of a tight-knit team of people. It will likely involve a steep and exciting learning curve. Thereby, we place great emphasis on self-motivation, the ability to follow systems and procedures correctly, the ability to learn quickly and independently and, above all, a pride in your work, attention to detail and a focus on quality.

    Essential:

    • Recent and proven experience in applied measurement 
    • Ability to understand complex topics and communicate them clearly 
    • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel 
    • Fluency in spoken and written English 
    • Ability to learn IT systems quickly 
    • Strong time and workload management skills
    • Creativity and problem-solving skills
    Highly-desirable:
     
    • Working in a training or educational environment
    • Mentoring experience
    • Educational theories and practices
