Job Description
Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Adults & Communities Social and Healthcare Team. This role is key in promoting independence, wellbeing, and choice, supporting both children and adults through strengths-based assessments and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments to support residents' needs.
Manage a caseload while maintaining professional standards (RCOT).
Apply strengths-based, person-centred approaches in assessments and care planning.
Prioritise workload effectively and use supervision proactively.
Work collaboratively with health, social care, and external partners.
Provide supervision to students and unqualified staff as required.
Participate in quality assurance activities and case file audits.
Engage in professional development, including training in Practice Education, Best Interest Assessor, AMHP, and Moving & Handling Train the Trainer.
