My public sector client is looking for a Business Support Officer to provide support within their Legal Services Directorate, where the successful candidate will play an integral part in assisting the organisations directorate (including Director, Assistant Directors and Senior Management Team)) to manage their time and work effectively, so that they can focus on their priorities. This is a potential up to 6 month temporary assignment Monday to Friday paying £12.74 p/hr, full time 37.00 hours a week, 9.00am to 5.00pm and this role will be a hybrid role looking at two days on site and three working from home currently.

As a Business Support Officer, you will be responsible for the below tasks-

  • Diary management - actively the Senior Management Team's appointments, sending meeting invites, chasing responses and accepting/declining invites as appropriate. Working closely with the SMT to ensure their diaries are aligned with key priorities
  • Inbox management - proactively managing the Director's inbox - ensuring urgent items are identified and progressed as necessary, responding to routine correspondence and the SMT as appropriate
  • Producing briefing notes and drafting presentations for the SMT to use when attending a range of senior leader meetings
  • Providing ad-hoc administrative support as required e.g. co-ordination of meetings, taking minutes, production of correspondence and distribution etc
  • Travel - arranging and booking travel/accommodation for the SMT and their team as required
  • Making all appropriate arrangements for attendance at offices, including desk booking and room bookings for meetings
  • Forming an effective working relationship with the administrative teams and EAs of other senior staff - ensuring appropriate channels of communications with the Director
  • Working alongside the Business Support Team, acting as Intranet Editor, completing regular audit checks, supporting recruitment campaigns and ensuring management information is kept up-to-date

  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.

  • A confident, self-motivated, positive self-starter with the ability to take the initiative and with proven experience in administration matters.
  • The ability to remain calm and reliable under pressure to manage a range of sensitive and high-profile matters.
  • Excellent attention to detail and committed to giving a high-quality performance in all aspects of the job.
  • You should also be willing to complete regular travel between our London, Birmingham and Manchester offices to support the Senior Management Team where required

Please note this role will require a DBS check, and three years referencing.
