Children's SW - Family Support Team

Provide targeted support to families experiencing difficulties, including parenting challenges, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and financial hardship.
Conduct assessments of children and families to determine needs and develop tailored support plans.
Work in partnership with other agencies, including schools, health professionals, and social care teams, to ensure a multi-agency approach.
Offer guidance, advocacy, and practical support to help families access appropriate services.
Undertake direct work with children and young people to promote their safety, development, and emotional well-being.
Monitor and review family progress, adapting support strategies as necessary.
Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports in line with legal and organisational requirements.
Attend case conferences, child protection meetings, and court proceedings where necessary.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and statutory responsibilities under UK legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.

Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification).
Registration with Social Work England.
Experience working with children and families, preferably within a statutory or voluntary sector setting.
Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding policies, and relevant legislation.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work under pressure.
Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.
A valid UK driving licence (if applicable to the role).

Training in therapeutic interventions, such as parenting programs or trauma-informed practice.
Understanding of early intervention and family preservation strategies.
Experience working with culturally diverse communities.
