We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Kier Places Building Solutions team based in Bristol.

 

Location: Bristol - hybrid working available, with travel to the office and sites required

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday – some flexibility on start/finish times available if required, just let us know when you speak to us

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Manager, you'll be working within the Building Solutions team, supporting them in ensuring design programmes and quality standards are met through the effective management of external partners, internal stakeholders and client representatives..

Your day to day will include:

  • Working with clients and consultants to understand and scope design solutions.
  • Working with the Preconstruction team to develop scopes of work and duties to obtain fee bids from consultant designers.
  • Identifying and scoping any necessary surveys and investigations.
  • Responsibility for the management and delivery of design information in accordance with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule.

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Design Manager is great for you if:

  • You have demonstrable  experience in a design role within a main contractor environment
  • You have a good working knowledge of statutory regulation such as Building Control and the Building Safety Act.
  • You have an understanding of the principles behind Whole Life Cost, Lifecycle Carbon Assessments and other sustainability measures
  • You have relevant construction qualification (Degree / HND or equivalent) Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture etc
  • You have experience of BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data, LoDM.
