Introduction
Butler Rose Public Practice Northern division are delighted to be working with a leading, independent chartered accountancy practice with multiple offices in the North West. They provide a wide range of business services to organisations and individuals throughout the North of England.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Personal Tax Compliance Manager for their Workington or Carnforth office.
No staff management experienced is required for this role.
Summary
As Personal Tax Compliance Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director and you will be responsible for delivering high quality client service by managing all aspects of clients Income tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, Capital Gains tax and Inheritance tax affairs together with keeping clients tax bills to a minimum.
Key Accountabilities
- As Personal Tax Compliance Manager, you will deliver high quality customer service and give advice to clients on all aspects of tax compliance and tax planning
- You will keep up-to-date with current tax legislation and tax practice
- You will ensure continuing legislative compliance by applying current relevant legislation and HMRC practice to the practice
Key Responsibilities
- Manage own portfolio of circa 700 clients
- You will be efficient in all aspects of taxation work, undertaking cost-effective services to clients
- Dealing with all aspects of clients' income tax affairs including completion of tax returns
- You will complete the income tax computations and capital allowance claims, including reviewing opening and closing years adjustments, continuation, electrons and loss relief claims
- You will carry out and review client files and advise on all aspects of personal financial planning
- You will be expected to keep up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and to meet all statutory deadlines
- You will liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and colleagues, undertake tax calculations for pre-year-end tax planning meetings
Job Specification
- Happy to be in a hands on stand-a-lone role
- Strong all round tax skills, specifically in personal and private client tax compliance
- Strong background in completing personal and partnership tax returns
- Experience of P11D's
- Experience of completing returns for high networth individuals
- Experience of using Sage
