International Supply Chain Manager - Renewable Energy Developer
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an International Supply Chain Manager to lead global procurement and supply chain strategies for large-scale renewable energy projects. This role will be instrumental in managing EPC contracts, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with international standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement plans for EPC contracts in alignment with FIDIC frameworks.
- Lead high-value contract negotiations to secure optimal pricing, delivery timelines, and service quality.
- Manage global supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, performance KPIs, and sustainability standards.
- Oversee procurement risk management, ensuring strict adherence to international trade regulations, FIDIC, and NEC frameworks.
- Provide expert guidance on FIDIC contract interpretation, execution, and dispute resolution.
- Support bid evaluations and selection of EPC contractors based on technical, commercial, and financial criteria.
- Conduct performance audits and implement corrective actions for EPC contractors and suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and contract management processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with legal teams to refine EPC contract terms, resolve disputes, and manage contract variations.
- Ensure procurement activities align with sustainability, ESG, and ethical sourcing policies.
- Oversee in-country logistics, inventory, and warehousing operations.
- Support local procurement and logistics as needed.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- EPC Contract Compliance - Ensure all obligations and deliverables are met per FIDIC terms.
- Cost Savings Achieved - Optimize costs through strategic negotiations and contract management.
- Supplier & EPC Contractor Performance - Monitor adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and timely deliveries.
- Procurement & Contract Cycle Time - Streamline processes from requisition to contract execution.
- Contractual Risk Management - Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks.
- FIDIC Dispute Resolution - Improve efficiency in resolving contract-related disputes.
- Budget Adherence - Maintain financial discipline by aligning procurement spend with forecasted budgets.
- Process Improvements - Implement enhancements in EPC procurement and supplier management.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Competencies:
- Extensive experience in FIDIC contract negotiation, execution, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, supplier management, and global trade regulations.
- Expertise in risk management and dispute resolution within large-scale EPC contracts.
- Proven ability to manage complex international procurement across multiple geographies.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in international procurement, EPC contract management, or supply chain leadership within the renewable energy sector.
Location: Kenya
Salary: 60,000 to 72,000 USD Gross Per Annum
