Power House Management Expert - Dams & Hydropower | Institutional Strengthening - Pakistan

We are looking for a highly experienced Power House Management Expert to support an institutional strengthening project in Pakistan. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing asset management, and driving strategic reforms in the Dams and Hydropower sector.

Project Overview

The objective of this consultancy is to conduct a thorough analysis of existing power house operations, covering all key technical, operational, and management aspects. The assessment will identify current strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement, providing actionable recommendations to optimize performance. This analysis will lay the foundation for critical reform initiatives to improve efficiency, sustainability, and resilience in hydropower asset management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing operational protocols and maintenance strategies for powerhouse facilities.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend best practices to improve overall system performance.
  • Provide guidance on implementing modern technologies and automation for optimized operations.
  • Assist in the development of training programs to enhance workforce capacity and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government agencies and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment with policy objectives.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering Management (or a related field).
  • A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is highly desirable and will be given additional weight.
  • At least 20 years of experience in power house operations, maintenance, and management, with a strong understanding of hydropower infrastructure and institutional frameworks.

Location & Compensation

  • Location: Lahore, Pakistan
  • Salary: USD 10,000 - 12,000 (higher salary can be negotiated based on experience)
