Overview:
Luton Borough Council is looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and families, working with complex and vulnerable cases, and ensuring that safeguarding decisions are made in the best interests of children.

Key Responsibilities:
?? Make Professional Judgements within a multi-disciplinary setting, assessing the needs of children and families.
?? Work Independently with vulnerable and challenging cases, where there may be issues of risk, requiring minimal supervision.
?? Communicate Effectively with service users, including children, and a wide range of professionals.
?? Maintain High-Quality Records, writing clear, concise reports and correspondence dealing with complex issues.
?? Utilize the Local Authority's Recording System for case management.
?? Collaborate and Work as Part of a Team, sharing expertise and supporting colleagues.
?? Meet Strict Deadlines and Targets, managing conflicting timescales effectively.
?? Lead or Participate in Case Meetings and chair meetings where appropriate.
?? Influence Service Delivery by identifying service gaps and negotiating resource needs.
?? Use Evidence-Based Practice to support decision-making on care plans and interventions.

What We're Looking For:
? Qualified Social Worker (SWE Registered)
? Experience working in family safeguarding and child protection
? Ability to work independently and manage complex cases with minimal supervision
? Strong communication skills, both oral and written
? Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
? Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
? Experience of case recording systems used in local authorities
