About the Role:
Lambeth Council is seeking an experienced Emergency Duty Team (EDT) Social Worker with AMHP status to provide a high-quality service across Adults and Children's Social Care. The role involves working within a multi-agency setting, making critical decisions under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983 (amended 2007), Care Act 2014, and other statutory frameworks.

As an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), you will:
?? Assess, review, and intervene to manage risks of abuse and neglect
?? Conduct Mental Health Act assessments as part of the AMHP duty rota
?? Work under the Care Act 2014 to assess needs and create support plans
?? Make professional decisions under The Mental Capacity Act / DoLS & Liberty Protection Safeguards
?? Undertake adult safeguarding enquiries and support safeguarding plans
?? Assess and approve Breathing Space applications under The Debt Respite Scheme Regulations 2020

What We're Looking For:
? Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
? Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification
? Strong knowledge of relevant legislation - MHA 1983, Care Act 2014, MCA, DoLS, LPS
? Experience in adult safeguarding, crisis intervention, and risk management
? Ability to work in a high-pressure emergency setting
? Strong assessment, decision-making, and case management skills
