Qualified Social Worker - Cheltenham Locality Team (Adults Social Care)

Location: Gloucestershire (Cheltenham)
Contract: Full-time, Locum (3 months, with possible extension)
Rate: £35 per hour + £150 weekly accommodation/mileage allowance
Caseload: Capped at 25

We have a full-time locum opportunity for a Qualified Social Worker to join the Cheltenham Locality Team within Gloucestershire County Council's Adult Social Care Services.

As a Social Worker, you will engage with the people of Gloucestershire, listening to their needs and connecting them to resources that support their independence. You will also work with individuals in crisis, helping them regain control of their lives. The team follows the Three Conversations approach, focusing on people's strengths, networks, and community support.

Requirements:

Social Work England registration with a completed ASYE or equivalent experience in statutory social work
Experience in Adult Social Care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, models, and theories in Adult Social Work
A UK driving licence and access to a car (exceptions may apply under the Equality Act)
What We Offer:

£35 per hour pay rate
£150 per week accommodation/mileage allowance (T&Cs apply)
Capped caseloads at 25 to ensure manageable workloads
Guaranteed minimum 3-month placement, subject to renewal
Agile working - first two weeks in the office for induction, followed by a maximum of two to three days per week in Gloucestershire for visits, meetings, and supervision
Dedicated support, regular supervision, and guidance from line management
