Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join Bolton's Independent Living Service on a 3-month contract. In this pivotal role, you will support other professionals across the Council and NHS, working closely with Social Workers, Community Assessment Officers (CAOs), and various health professionals.
Service Overview
Bolton's Independent Living Service is a collaborative team comprising:
Occupational Therapists
Disability Officers (CAOs)
Discharge to Assess at-home Team
Sensory and Telecare Teams
As a Senior OT, you will offer specialist input to help people with disabilities maintain or regain independence, providing:
Advice and Techniques
Equipment
Adaptations
Holistic Support
Key Responsibilities
Promote Independence: Deliver tailored interventions that enhance the well-being and autonomy of service users.
Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Partner with Social Workers, CAOs, and health professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
Innovative Practice: Contribute to the development of cutting-edge approaches within health and social care, streamlining processes and improving outcomes for individuals and carers.
Holistic Assessments: Identify and address the diverse needs of service users, implementing strategies to foster their well-being.
What We're Looking For
Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration (e.g., HCPC).
Proven Experience in a health or social care setting, ideally supporting people with disabilities or complex needs.
Strong Communication Skills for effective collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams.
Adaptability and Initiative to develop innovative ways of working that promote service user independence.
