Job Title: Design Manager - Large-Scale Commercial Construction Project

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to lead the design coordination for a multi-million-pound commercial development in Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a prestigious large-scale project, overseeing the full design lifecycle from pre-construction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design process for a high-value commercial construction project.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design compliance and efficiency.
  • Ensure that designs align with client requirements, building regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify and resolve design challenges to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Work closely with the site team to integrate design solutions effectively during construction.
  • Conduct regular design review meetings and provide technical guidance as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to CDM regulations and best practices for health & safety.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager on large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and design coordination.
  • Experience in managing design for multi-million-pound developments is essential.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant design software is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
