Head of Future Frameworks – Warwick (UK) - £80,000 to £100,000 DOE
National Gas is securing Britain’s energy. We transport gas throughout Great Britain, repair and maintain gas pipelines, and manage the meters that allow millions of homes and businesses to access the energy they need. We are the national gas network, providing secure energy to power Britain, achieve net zero, and maintain our industrial competitiveness.
We are looking for a Head of Future Frameworks to join the Strategy and Regulation team. In this role, you will manage and influence new business model funding arrangements for hydrogen or carbon dioxide transportation, to ensure it enables delivery of the critical network infrastructure essential to the growth of the UK’s hydrogen economy, and the realisation of the UK’s net zero ambitions.
Join us, and help be the energy behind the change.
About the role:
You will provide expert advice to business areas in understanding regulatory issues and requirements and provide regulatory guidance. You will lead the relationships with Ofgem, DESNZ, and key government department engagements to develop (and ultimately deliver) appropriate future frameworks and business models to ensure they deliver value for both shareholders and consumers.
You will ensure legislation and regulatory changes that impact the business are understood, communicated and implemented with the appropriate assurance framework to manage risks.
You will convert our business strategy into tangible goals for regulatory outcomes, influencing and assessing implications of externally driven regulatory developments accordingly. You will also deliver well-evidenced and supported regulatory submissions, partnering with the business and challenging evidence, to build constructive engagement with Ofgem.
This role is based out of our Head Office in Warwick. The team operates on a hybrid way of working, typically spending 3 days working from the office, with 2 remotely.
About you:
The ability to influence and challenge internal and external senior stakeholders, gain credibility, inspire trust and confidence is essential to this role.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, simplifying complex material both written and verbally, with an attention to detail.
You will have the skills to build winning business cases for multimillion-pound commercial or regulated investments.
You will be a strong collaborator, able to quickly build effective partnerships with others around the business at all levels, and able to manage a virtual team in a matrixed organisation.
What we can offer you:
• Salary between £80,000 to £100,000 (dependent on experience),
• Annual bonus of up to 20% based on personal and company performance,
• 28 days’ holiday plus 8 statutory holidays – plus option to buy 5 additional days,
• A fully electric car, or cash alternative,
• Double-match pension scheme - for every £1 you put in, we'll add £2 (max company contribution 12%, giving you a total of up to 18%),
• Private Medical Insurance for you, with the option to purchase cover for additional family members,
• Opt-In flexible benefit scheme, including dental insurance, technology plans and more,
• Financial protection with 10x salary death in service and financial support if you're unable to work due to long term illness or injury,
• Excellent family friendly provisions - maternity/paternity/adoption/surrogacy/ shared parental leave,
• Employee assistance programme offering free confidential professional counselling 24/7,
• Financial support to cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions relevant to your role.
Other 'nice to knows':
• Flexible working hours
• Staying away allowance – breakfast, lunch and dinner
