Contract Lawyer (FIDIC Contracts) - Infrastructure - Benin

Our client is current undertaking major infrastructure project in West Africa, for this project they are seeking: Contracts Manager with focus on FIDIC Contracts to join the team and provide vital legal guidance in the execution and management of works and service contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verification of legal clauses and specifications.
  • Review and verification of legal clauses in draft contracts.
  • Provide support, when requested, to the Donor and End Client during negotiations with contractors regarding FIDIC conditions and legal aspects of the works.
  • Offer legal support to the Donor Funding and Programme Management Team during the execution of works and/or service contracts.
  • Assist in interpreting contractual clauses within works and service contracts.
  • Verify the Engineer's handling of claims submitted by contractors.
  • Review the legal aspects of the Engineer's notes and documentation.
  • Participate in meetings with the Dispute Arbitration Board.

What Our Client Is Looking For:

  • Proven experience working with FIDIC contracts in a legal capacity.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and construction project dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide sound legal advice in high-pressure, collaborative environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to ensuring legal compliance.


Language Requirements: Fluency in French is required.

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: Benin
