Job description - the role

On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Business Manager-CFO for a 6 months contract based in London (hybrid).

Deutsche Bank is a global banking business with strong roots in Germany and operations in over 70 countries. Their large but focused footprint gives an established position in Europe plus a significant presence in the Americas and Asia Pacific. There are four business divisions: the Corporate Bank, the Investment Bank, the Private Bank and the Asset Manager DWS. There are also a number of highly skilled functions performing key management tasks.

Purpose of the role:

  • The Chief Operating Office (COO) team is responsible for the strategy and execution, governance, resource allocation, change management, project management and control oversight for the CFO Division. You will be supporting the effective current functioning, and setting the future direction, of the CFO Division.

    The CFO Division of DWS has presence in Frankfurt, London, New York and Asia and is responsible for ensuring the sound risk management and financial governance of DWS. The CFO Division comprises Procurement, Risk, Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Analysis, External Financial Reporting, Regional CFO teams, Tax, Treasury, Finance Director teams for the Investment Platform, Coverage and Infrastructure functions and the COO team.

Key responsibilities

  • Annual financial planning and forecasting.
  • Headcount management and compensation matters.
  • Ensuring CFO Division's governance and adherence to a variety of regulations and procedures via close liaison with control functions.
  • Supporting the smooth running of governance bodies, including provision of management information.
  • Defining, implementing and continuously improving policies, processes and procedures.
  • Managing key initiatives and driving completion of deliverables through establishment of well-structured and well-governed projects.
  • Ability to synthesise relevant business insights/updates for senior management including COO, CFO and CRO.
  • Ability to gain agreement across diverse groups of stakeholders in order to drive initiatives forward.
  • Maintaining relationships with a broad range of internal points of contact from across the CFO Division, other DWS divisions and control functions, including Compliance, IT, Human Resources and Facility Management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work independently in a demanding environment.
  • Capable of liaising with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence those not reporting to you to achieve objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience in project management or similar function preferred.
  • Knowledge of asset management industry preferred.
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent qualification.
  • Degree in Finance or comparable subject or equivalent experience.
