Business Change Project Manager
We are seeking a motivated and driven Business Change Project Manager to join our PFI Handback Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across Mitie's Local Government and Education Programme within our Communities Portfolio. This role is home-based with occasional site visits.
This is a hands-on project management role where you will take ownership of shaping projects and ensuring successful delivery through your project management expertise. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, you will manage multiple projects end-to-end, driving successful outcomes within time, cost, and quality parameters.
What are the key responsibilities?
You will be in charge of cross-functional teams to deliver projects successfully, ensuring milestones are met on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives, collaborating with Project Sponsors to define KPIs and project roadmaps while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. You will also:
- Engage with business teams and SMEs to tailor handback planning guides to meet specific project and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate project resources to maintain focus and ensure task completion.
- Proactively manage project risks, perform root cause analysis, and identify mitigation strategies to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee change and transition management processes, including demobilisation, while managing multiple projects efficiently.
- Track tasks, deliverables, and ensure effective decision-making and escalation points within the Three Lines of Defence (3LoD) framework.
- Communicate project updates clearly and effectively to internal and external teams and stakeholders.
- Work closely with Senior Leadership Teams to ensure accountability and successful project delivery.
What are we looking for?
You will hold relevant Project Management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2) or equivalent experience and be a proven experience of working within PFI projects holding an understanding of Public Sector processes and PFI handback guidance, aligned with IPA methodology.
You will have:
- Strong background in business change projects.
- Ability to manage project lifecycles, governance, and quality assurance effectively.
- Experience working within complex, matrix-style project environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office software and project management tools.
- Excellent self-management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
