Our Cumbria based apprenticeship opportunities include:
• Business Administration – Level 3
• Craft (Electrical, Mechanical, Welder, Fabricator, Machinist, Pipefitter) – Level 3
• Firefighter – Level 3
• Health Physics Monitor – Level 2
• Nuclear Operator – Level 2
• Nuclear Welding Inspection – Level 4

Your skills and qualifications

Each of our Apprenticeship schemes have different entry requirements, please make sure you review and check the entry requirements for each scheme by visiting the below page before you apply and make your preferred choices.

As a minimum for all schemes, you will be required to achieve or expected to achieve:
• 3 GCSEs Grade 4 (Grade C) in Mathematics, English Language & 1 Science/Engineering subject OR ICT subject (Business Studies, ICT Level 2, BTEC Level 2, Higher ECDL or similar)
• Functional Skills Level 2 will also be considered as equivalent to GCSE Grade 4 (Grade C). Other equivalent qualifications may be considered.
• Some schemes have additional subject/grade requirements and age requirements, ensure you review these before you apply.

If you’ve studied in Scotland:

• 3 National 5s at C or above including English and Maths (excluding Application of Maths), 1 Science/Engineering OR ICT subject.
• Functional Skills Level 2 will also be considered as equivalent to National 5 Grade C. Other equivalent qualifications may be considered.
• Some schemes have additional subject/grade requirements and age requirements, be sure you review these before you apply.

Your Reward

• Salary of £19,207 in Year 1 for Level 2 & 3 schemes, and £23,056 for Level 4. Your salary will rise each year upon successful performance. More details on the salaries offered for each scheme can be found here:

• On top of your annual salary, you’ll have the opportunity to benefit from an annual bonus, linked to company performance, of up to £4,000.

• We aim to strike a good work/life balance by offering 30 days annual leave with statutory public holidays on top. There is also the ability to purchase an additional 2.5 days leave on top.

• If you’re relocating here from more than 30 miles away, we’ll support you with a relocation allowance of £1,400 and give you plenty of information on the best areas to live and how to find a place too.

• We also offer an attractive defined contribution pension scheme – the company will match up to 13.5% for a 7% employee contribution.

• At the end of your apprenticeship and subject to there being a suitable vacancy, you will be retained on a permanent basis with us.

Key Information & Dates

• Application Closing Date: 16th February 2025

• Assessment: You will be issued an assessment to complete, the date you receive this will depend on when you apply. You will be given a deadline to complete this.

• National Apprenticeship Week: 10 – 16th February 2025

• Interview Dates: 11th March – 4th April 2025

• Conditional Offers issued in May 2025

• Upon receiving an offer, you’ll be invited to attend a skills scan, this is a pre-requirement for your apprenticeship and will take place between May and July, you will be notified of the date upon receiving your conditional offer.

• Expected Start Date: 8th September 2025
