Job Description
On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Solution Architect (Inside IR35) for a 3 Month Part-Time Contract (Part Time 2.5 Days per week) based Hybrid in Bristol.
The Solution Architect will be part of the NSIGN Solution Design. The Solution Design team are developing the Expand target operating model for in-service support of RN ships. This role will lead development of the NSIGN Data & Digital Approach ensuring alignment with the wider NSIGN Target Operating Model.
The role will manage four workstreams comprising Data and Performance Reporting; Contracting for Data; Future Management Information and solution development and developing culture, behaviours and engagement with data and digital.
As a Solution Architect your main responsibilities will be to:
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop requirements for performance reporting solutions.
* Ensure secure and efficient data sharing across different organizations.
* Provide expertise on MOD's existing and planned data and digital projects, including systems used in maritime contexts such as Power BI, SQL databases, and Palantir Foundry.
* Promote cultural and behavioral changes to drive engagement with data and digital technologies.
* Understand and leverage data and digital technologies to support the RN Surface Fleet, ensuring alignment with existing and future MOD data and digital projects to deliver a compatible NSIGN Data & Digital solution architecture
Essential:
* SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
* Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect, particularly in developing performance reporting solutions.
* Strong knowledge of in-service systems such as: Power BI Desktop, Power BI for Report Server (used by MIDAS for its front end), SQL databases (used by MIDAS for its back end) and Palantir Foundry (used by Kraken).
* Understanding of secure data sharing methodologies between organisations.
* Familiarity with MOD's data and digital landscape, including current and future projects. (Highly Desireable).
* Proven track record of leading solution design in complex environments.
* Expertise in working with data technologies and secure data sharing.
* Hands-on experience with Power BI tools, including Desktop and Report Server.
