As a Microsoft 365 expert, you will play a key role in enhancing and expanding Good Energy’s Microsoft 365 infrastructure. Working within the IT Operations team, your expertise will help optimize and maintain this vital component of our IT operating model across the entire organization.
You’ll also be a crucial member of the IT Operations team, supporting escalations from 1st and 2nd line teams, ensuring that our SaaS products are well-configured, and maintaining the performance of our upgraded On-Premise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand and enhance the Microsoft 365 infrastructure for approximately 500 users
- Configure and support core enterprise IT systems, including Active Directory/Entra ID, Endpoint Manager, WSUS, Exchange, MDM, Mimecast, and other security products
- Maintain and improve the On-Premise environment, including configuration, security, patching, backup policies, server administration (including VMs), and storage management
- Deliver IT changes with a focus on usability, security, governance, and risk management
- Ensure uptime and an optimal user experience across all infrastructure services under your responsibility
- Contribute to new projects, renewals, and improvements to the infrastructure
- Collaborate with the wider IT team to achieve shared objectives
- Occasionally assist with physical server maintenance (adjustments available for candidates requiring support)
- Promote Good Energy’s values and demonstrate the behaviors that align with its culture
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop functional capabilities, systems, and expertise within the team
- Manage business risks related to the role

Essentials:
Essentials:
- IT administrator qualifications or equivalent experience, with a focus on Microsoft 365 infrastructure
- Previous roles such as 3rd Line Engineer, Office 365 Administrator, or similar, with exposure to a variety of IT systems and processes
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including administration, configuration, automation, policies, and security (especially Defender ATP)
- Proficient with Entra ID, Group Policy, Exchange OnPrem/Online, PowerShell, IPSEC, patching, and VPN configuration
- A self-starter, eager to dive in, understand the current setup, and identify improvements
- Willing to learn from and share knowledge with the team to support overall IT functions
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model, with office-based collaboration on Wednesdays
- Confident in managing escalations and engaging with end-users to resolve tickets promptly
Desirables:
- Experience with Windows Server, VMWare, Nutanix, Arctic Wolf, Unitrends, or similar technologies
- ITIL or other relevant IT qualifications (Microsoft certifications preferred)
- Experience in app support
- Familiarity with compliance and information governance in a regulated environment
- Experience with server room migrations (On-Prem, Co-Lo, Cloud)
- Networking knowledge, including firewalls (WatchGuard preferred), Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, and sftp
- Understanding of data, information, and cyber security best practices
- Exposure to Power Platform
- Involvement in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) implementation
- Familiarity with VOIP telephony and Direct Routing via Teams
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or ADO management
- Experience with database administration
