Job Title: Assessment Manager

About the role

This role would suit individuals with expertise in one or more of the following subject areas -Social Sciences, Humanities, Sciences, ICT, Business, General Subjects, English, Languages. You will be educated to degree level with knowledge of assessment in education and ideally have teaching experience in one or more of these subject areas

You will provide multi-skilled and flexible support for colleagues in the Assessment and Customer Support Directorate as required to assist them in managing syllabuses, including question paper production across a diverse range of subjects.

You will contribute to the management of the design, development, and delivery of a portfolio of our qualifications and assessment materials.

Knowledge of assessment in education is essential, ideally this will include international assessment. A can-do, positive attitude to work and team working is also essential.

Meticulous in your approach, the ability to follow procedures is essential as you will be checking, proofreading, and signing off assessment materials, as well as managing examiners to ensure accuracy of marking and conformity to our assessment standards.

Working with a range of stakeholders and ensuring that assessment providers are fully competent to deliver assessments in accordance with Cambridge standards, you will also support a diverse range of customers, so we are looking for a strong track record of effective people skills.

You'll be comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines, working during periods of high workload in the running of the May/June series (June, July) and October/November series (November/December/January) depending on your responsibilities.

With plenty of opportunity to use your outstanding organisational skills, you will have the ability to prioritise, self-manage your workload, and deliver against your objectives.

About you

  • We are looking for you to have a degree in one of the following subject areas: Social Sciences, Humanities, Sciences, ICT, Business, General Subjects, English, Languages.

  • Experience of digital qualifications/assessment, and/or a willingness to learn more about digital qualifications/assessment would be very helpful.

  • Your standard of English will be very high, and knowledge of assessments in an education setting is key.

  • You are likely to have spent some time in the classroom as a teacher, and may even have a knowledge of international education.

  • Any post-graduate qualifications in educational assessment, project management, or experience in examination would be an asset in this role.
