In Service Engineer

(Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 10 months

Location: Andover

Active SC clearance is essential.

Job Purpose

A lot of work has been conducted by the Field Army A&RP Evolve team to improve the Army's ability to produce Event Level Forecasting. This work has been conducted for a small number of LAND vehicles due to the resource intensive nature of the process. The next stage is to enable the full automation of the production of the forecast utilising the Fd Army suite of tools. The post holder, along with another team member, will be responsible for developing the templates required to enable the forecast input by the User to be fully automated.

As a In Service Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Work with Field Army and Army HQ to develop the templates required for each Event conducted by the Field Army.
  • Develop the Activity and Resource Planning (A&RP) Evolve Automation process that clearly articulates roles and responsibilities across the Enterprise.
  • Expand the process to cover all LAND Vehicles covered by the current Activity and Resource Planning process.
  • Review the current processes and identify opportunities to improve the processes across the Support Enterprise.

  • Review the ECOSYSTEM being developed by Field Army IX Programme.
  • An understanding of the following is essential:
  • How the Army and DE&S are constructed and function
  • The existing A&RP Evolve methodology.
  • How the Army trains
  • Current Systems including JAMES, CHURCHILL and the EASM(H) tool.

Essential:

  • Engineering qualification (IEng or equivalent) / Engineering background
  • Engage with all stakeholders, especially the Field Army and Army HQ, to ensure their buy-in to the process and ensure that the new programmes being delivered (CR3, AJAX, BOXER, ARCHER) consider the A&RP Evolve process requirements.
