? Join Our Team as a Youth Justice Service Practitioner (Case Manager) in Tameside Council! ?

Are you an experienced Youth Justice Service Practitioner ready to make a difference? Were seeking dedicated individuals to join Tameside Councils Youth Justice Service. As a Case Manager, youll play a crucial role in preventing offending and re-offending by children and young people.

Position: Youth Justice Service Practitioner (Case Manager)
Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester
Rate: £30-£35 per hour (depending on experience)
Average Caseload: 15
Work Environment: Onsite role with flexible working options
Additional Requirements: Occasional Saturday court cover (stand-by from home) and bank holiday work may be required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth assessments of children and young people who have offended, assessing risks and developing clear risk management plans.
  • Coordinate service provision within the Scaled Approach model to meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Supervise and enforce relevant Court Orders on behalf of the Local Authority, adhering to National Standards for Youth Justice.
  • Conduct direct work with children and their families to address assessed needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other agencies to provide comprehensive support.
  • Refer young people and families to appropriate services and monitor their progress.
  • Engage parents and children in meaningful working relationships to reduce the risk of further offending.
  • Prepare and present information to the Court, maintaining accurate records and effective communication.
  • Conduct reviews and statutory visits in accordance with National Standards and local procedures.
  • Adhere to Service policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
  • Contribute to an office duty system on a rota basis.
  • Attend supervision sessions, team meetings, and training sessions as required.
  • Contribute to policy development and service provision reviews.


Personal Requirements:

Social work qualification or equivalent, registered with Social Work England (social workers only).
Degree in Youth Justice preferred.
Commitment to undertake relevant professional training, including Child Protection/Safeguarding.
