Project Architect - Dubai

Salary £50k - £60k, Permanent Position

An international multi-disciplinary practice are seeking a Project Architect, ideally with 7+ years post part 3 experience to join their Dubai team.

The practice works across the fields of contemporary architecture, urban planning, landscape design, interior design and product design. They are a culturally driven design-led studio that believes in the importance of context to inform its design process and architecture. You'd be joining an international team of architects, who promote regional design with a clear as well as an elegant vision of pure, rational form and spatial quality. Principles of sustainable design are integral to their work on all levels, scales and typologies. From a contextual approach, design that minimises environmental impact, promotes wellbeing, encourages mobility and connectivity with a community focus and careful use of materials.

This position reports to the Design Directors / Partners.

Role Overview & Responsibilities :

• Responsible for developing and delivering the project design from inception to completion through multiple design stages
• Develop and coordinate the project design, details, material specifications and technologies for project specifications, in line with the project design
• Coordinate and assure quality, continuity and consistency of project drawings and documentation
• Effectively coordinate all project disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP, cost control and interior design)
• Maintain positive and progressive day-to-day communications with clients, consultants and the team
• Ensure project delivery in accordance with internal design stage and overall project programme
• Monitor and maintain project milestones, implementing established studio tools such as project action lists, project programs, site reports etc.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are properly implemented and maintained, including statutory requirements etc.
• Ensure the established and client-approved concept design is rigorously developed and implemented with minimal variations except those agreed by the design director/partners/client or required for coordination of structure/MEP/cost control

Ideal Skills & Requirements :

• 5 year bachelor's or master's degree in architecture/equivalent
• Minimum 7 years' proven experience in project management, detail and design development, construction documents, construction administration and site supervision of high-end projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM (ARCHICAD ++) Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup essential, hand drawings and visualizations is an advantage
• Experience in the residential/private villa/commercial sectors essential, demonstrate a portfolio of high quality projects at medium-large scale.

• Demonstrate a considerable understanding of client communications, contract documentation, project scheduling, team leadership, building design, technical detailing, consultant coordination and construction administration
• Self-motivated and self-disciplined in an intense collaborative studio environment, ability to organize, encourage and lead project teams
• Have excellent organizational skills, show initiative and have the ability to work independently
• Understanding of the studios work and capability to execute its design intentions through various stages to completion
• Be a good communicator with excellent written and spoken English
• Demonstrate a track record of achieving excellence in project design development and delivery
