Tax Advisor - Trusts & Estates

Petersfield based

£50,000 - £70,000

Butler Rose Public Practice are delighted to be partnering with a small and specialist accountancy firm based in Petersfield who are looking to recruit an experienced Tax Advisor. This exciting role will allow you to work with high end clients, completing complex and interesting tax work within the trust and estates sector.

This will be an ideal position for someone who has been specialising in trust and estates and who would like to progress their career within a more specialist firm. Ideally you will be CTA / ATT / STEP qualified or equivalent but various levels of qualification will be considered.

Main duties:

  • Report writing on IHT exposure and detailed estate planning advice;
  • Report writing on detailed trust advice to include the following, which is not necessarily an exhaustive list:

  • The existence of trusts;
  • The set up of trusts;
  • The use of trusts in planning;
  • The closure of trusts;
  • Trust compliance throughout the life span.

The ability to analyse the tax legislation and explain it in layman's termsook at tax cases to back up your arguments or that may be used against your argument, go through the HMRC manuals to determine HMRC's position and interpretation of the law and then apply the legislation, the manuals and the tax cases to a specific scenario;

Review of complex tax returns and compliance forms for individuals, estates and trusts.

Alternatively, our client may also consider someone who is equally experienced in providing Corporation Tax and company taxation advice to include:

  • EIS/SEIS
  • Share schemes such as EMI
  • Extraction of profits
  • Demergers and Mergers
  • Company buy-outs
  • ATED
  • Property companies
