The opportunity available is to join a team delivering Mission Critical projects within London, with flexible work options available. The successful candidate will be working within a tightly knit and supportive team culture working with some of the industries most prestigious data centre clients.

The position available is for a Mechanical Technical Director. In this full-time permanent role, the Mechanical Technical Director serves as the subject matter expert within the London team. You will provide thought leadership for the Group in engineering, driving technical excellence and managing discipline-related intellectual property. The role demands extensive technical knowledge and experience within data centre and a solid track record of leading and delivering large scale data centre projects across the UK / Europe.

Key Challenges

* Proven track record of leading and delivering data centre projects across UK or EU.
* Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including a proven ability to communicate with technical staff across multiple disciplines
* Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with clients
* Have highly developed verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* The ability to exercise substantial initiative and high level judgement and to work independently to meet objectives
* Well-developed problem solving skills
* Demonstrate an appropriate level of technical competence


Attributes
* A relevant qualification combined with equivalent training and experience.
* Minimum 10-15 years technical experience within building services design (having managed a variety of projects across the full systems development life cycle and responsibility for delivering large and complex projects.
* Previous experience in understanding management systems (QA, WHS, EMS).
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including a proven ability to communicate with technical staff across multiple disciplines.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to lead and affect change.
* Ability to exercise substantial initiative and high level judgement and to work independently and in a team to meet objectives.
* Well-developed problem solving skills.

Training and development are integral to our clients culture, with a focus on providing staff with clear progression paths through career plans and internal/external training courses. Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects spanning health care facilities, commercial office developments, and retail developments, including both new builds and refurbishments.
