Eden Brown Synergy has an exciting opportunity for an experience HR Manager (Health & Social Care Sector) to join an established and growing Social Care Service Provider, supporting care for children and adults

The HR Manager would be a qualified and ambitious HR Professional to lead and manage the HR Department, build positive relationships with care staff and management across business disciplines

The HR Manager would have previous experience in a Health & Social Care sector, with a proven track record in a similar role, knowledge and understanding of HR best practices, recruitment, compliance and HR processes

To Qualify for this role you would have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Human Resource Management
  • A related degree or L5 CIPD
  • A full, clean driving licence.
  • In depth understanding of UK employment law, with the ability to apply this knowledge effective to protect the company and guide policy development.
  • Proven track record in an HR related role, ideally in a HR Management capacity.
  • Demonstrating comprehensive generalist capability
  • Showcasing strong foundation in HR practices and principle
  • A warm, collaborative, enthusiastic team player.
  • Highly skilled in navigating and resolving conflicts.
  • Advance computer skills along enabling efficient data administration and data analysis.
  • Conduction disciplinary procedure and managing complex employee relation matter exercising confidence and discretion.
  • Passionate about our industry & determined to find the best talent.
  • Flexible and adaptable, identifying and prioritising whose needs are greatest.

The HR Manager would be responsible for:

Recruitment and Retention

Overseeing recruitment following our Safer Recruitment process. This includes advertising roles online (or liaising with agencies), shortlisting candidates, interviewing, reference checking, applying for DBS, onboarding & arranging their induction, and obtaining induction paperwork.

Ensuring all new staff, including agency staff, are vetted prior to the commencement of employment.

Drafting contracts for permanent, ad hoc, self-employed staff, and contractors.

Tracking probation periods and evaluating employee performance, completing probation and appraisals meetings with employees.

Providing guidance and support to managers in conducting performance reviews and establishing performance improvement plans.

Payroll

Working collaboratively with our payroll department to ensure that staff pay is processed accurately and timely.

Ensure that staff hours are calculated and submitted to our payroll department to process to meet our payroll deadline.

Ensuring leavers are correctly processed and Payroll properly reflects.

Leave of Absence

Ensure that staff leave absence records are up to date and reflect the type of leave taken.

Ensure that leave balances are accurate.

Reviewing and processing leave requests and ensure managers' approval is obtained.

Induction

Onboarding new employees and arranging their induction ensuring their induction checklist is completed.

Ensuring staff receive their ID and uniform received at commencement of employment and return when leaving.

Providing general People/HR advice and support to the wider team.

HR Policies, Procedures, and Management Toolkits

Reviewing relevant Policies & Procedures, Location Risk Assessments, and other paperwork.

Monitoring systems and databases such as: policies and procedures platform, training platform and DBS checks.

Keeping up to date with legal requirements and industry best practices, ensuring our HR policies and procedures comply with relevant regulations.

Employee Relations (ER) advice and support

Managing shared inboxes and flagging for the appropriate people.

Supporting with Ad Hoc HR administration and documentation.

Providing general People/HR advice and support to the wider team.

Supporting managers in conducting disciplinary investigations & hearings.

HR Training and Development

Identifying training needs and coordinating internal and external training programs to enhance employees' skills and capabilities.

Monitoring training effectiveness and ensuring these training courses align with the company policies and goals.

Maintaining central supervision and training matrices and addressing shortfalls with respective staff, escalating to senior management when necessary.

Talent/Performance Management and Wellbeing

Ensuring onboarded employees have the right access to rotas and timesheets, with the correct pay grade and job roles associated with their profile.

Managing employee data and documentation, keeping our HR platform updated.

Tracking probation periods / improvement plan deadlines.

Communicating changes in Benefits eligibility to relevant parties.

Compliance

Ensuring all staffing files are monitored and compliant. This involves regular checks on staff DBS status online, right to work, etc.

Property compliance - ensuring all property-related certification is always up to date.

Ensuring all new staff, including agency staff, are vetted prior to the commencement of employment.

Keeping up to date with legal requirements and industry best practices to ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Audit Responsibility

Conduct regular audits of employees' documentation (for example visa, right to work, DBS, driver's license) and HR files and training files to ensure legal compliance, regulatory practice and data accuracy.

Conduct regular audits of HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.

Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions based on audit findings.

Rota

Create, maintain, and optimize staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage and efficient allocation of resources.

Monitor and adjust rotas in response to staff absences, holidays, or other scheduling changes.

Coordinate with department heads and team leaders to understand staffing requirements and preferences.

Ensure rotas comply with legal requirements and industry standards.

Monitor staff working hours to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to rota compliance.
