We are currently seeking a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our Mental Health Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges in Powys.
Role Overview:
As an AMHP qualified social worker, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, coordinating care plans, and providing support to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Your role will involve collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, service users, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of effective and person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting Mental Health Act assessments and making decisions regarding the appropriate course of action.
Coordinating and implementing care plans in collaboration with service users, their families, and relevant professionals.
Providing support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental health crises, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Liaising with external agencies and partners to facilitate access to resources and support services.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualified social worker with Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status.
Experience working within a mental health setting, preferably within a statutory organization.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act 1983 and associated codes of practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective working relationships.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Flexibility to work within a dynamic and challenging environment.
