Butler Rose are delighted to be assisting a successful Exeter business with the requirement for a Strategic Buyer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a client that Butler Rose has partnered with many times before, that offer fantastic career development, whilst working in a well-established and friendly team.

The role would either suit an established Buyer from a manufacturing background, or a procurement/supply chain professional who has retail/wholesale purchasing experience. Full training can be provided.

The Role

The role of Strategic Buyer is to work across the organisation to ensure the site is adequately supplied with materials and products necessary to support all wider business demands. Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage a portfolio of products, ensuring on time delivery and active supplier relationship management
  • Monitoring Supplier performance and resolving and escalating queries where necessary
  • Working in conjunction with Product management and NPI integration
  • Undertake and maintain Market Analysis and Bench marking to validate current costs and identify opportunities
  • Working closely with the Procurement and Product Managers to identify and deliver Cost Saving initiatives
  • Operate and be accountable for the given product portfolio
  • Support the business on supported project costs
  • To ensure compliance with Company Procurement Policies
  • Identify cost saving opportunities within the market through Spend Analysis
  • Support the purchasing team and business for product alternatives and mitigate the impact to the business
  • Create and distribute monthly KPI/Update reports to the leadership teams

To be chosen for the role you must possess the following skills and experience:

  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a demanding workload effectively
  • Knowledge of Contract and purchasing agreements
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and formats
  • Effective communication using the appropriate tools to develop Supplier Relationships.
  • To ensure that customer requirements are met at all times

Package

  • £32,000 - £35,000 DOE
  • Good benefits package
  • Permanent full time role, site based
