BUYER - recognisable branded manufacturer
A leader within their sector, this instantly recognisable brand is looking for an energetic and
commercial buyer for its manufacturing facility based in Huntingdon.
The Procurement function is going through an exciting transformation. This is a career enhancing
opportunity to be a part of and lead in aspects of this journey.
The Role
Within this newly created role, you will have full responsibility for sourcing, negotiation and supplier
relationships within the allocated categories.
Working as part of a small team, reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will have close
interaction with the leadership team and senior management at the manufacturing site and wider
group organisation.
Responsibilities include:
- Source new materials and suppliers
- Price negotiation with existing and new suppliers
- Undertake cost saving projects
- Manage supplier relationships
- Monitor commodity markets define a clear sourcing strategy
- Budget control and financial forecasting
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience of Procurement, preferably within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Negotiation skill and commercial awareness
- Awareness of commodity markets and their impact on costs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Stakeholder engagement
- Strong analytical skills
The role would suit someone recently qualified/graduated in Procurement or someone with a more
established background looking for high autonomy and accountability.
