About the Role:
Worcestershire County Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an MH Social Worker. In this role, you will work within mental health inpatient settings across Worcestershire to facilitate the effective discharge of individuals back into the community. Reporting to the ASWP for mental health hospital discharges, you will collaborate closely with partners in Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, as well as colleagues within Worcestershire County Councils North and South Mental Health Teams, and our AMHP Hub colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake a review of practices and processes, developing practice guidance and tools to support frontline staff.
Act as a senior and autonomous social worker, responsible for professional actions and supporting staff within your area of expertise.
Provide support to social workers in community teams through critical analysis, support, and challenge to drive quality improvement and professional development.
Develop links with the AMHP hub to identify individuals detained under the Mental Health Act who may require ongoing support upon transitioning to community settings.
Provide social work leadership within inpatient settings, promoting the social perspective, focusing on recovery, and advocating for individuals on wards.
Requirements:
Experience in achieving excellent outcomes for individuals with complex needs arising from mental illness.
Strong advocacy skills for the rights of individuals in hospital settings.
Robust knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Care Act.
Ability to work flexibly and remotely, utilizing supporting technology.
