Our client is a leading supplier of modular buildings, is seeking a skilled Traffic Marshall to join our team in Purfleet. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of construction sites and requires candidates to hold CSCS and Traffic Marshall cards, as well as a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Traffic Management: Control the flow of vehicles and pedestrians on construction sites, directing traffic to designated areas, ensuring safe entry and exit, and preventing congestion and accidents.

  2. Vehicle Loading and Unloading: Coordinate the loading and unloading of construction materials, components, and equipment, ensuring they are safely transported to and from work areas.

  3. Site Access Control: Monitor access points to construction sites, checking credentials and issuing passes to authorised personnel, subcontractors, and visitors, while preventing unauthorised access.

  4. Health and Safety: Enforce health and safety regulations and guidelines related to traffic management on construction sites, ensuring that vehicles and pedestrians operate safely and follow designated routes and procedures.

  5. Communication: Communicate effectively with site managers, supervisors, drivers, and other personnel regarding traffic management procedures, providing clear instructions and guidance as needed.

  6. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and incidents on construction sites, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or spills, providing assistance and coordinating emergency services as required.

  7. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain traffic management equipment such as barriers, cones, signs, and flashing lights, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly deployed as needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid CSCS card is essential for this position.

  • Valid Traffic Marshall card is required.

  • Valid driving licence is essential for this position.

  • Previous experience as a Traffic Marshall or similar role on construction sites.

  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and traffic management procedures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
