Brook Street Social Care are looking for Children's Residential Support workers on behalf of their client based in Bradford. You will become part of a fresh team in a new home.

A 3 bed home accommodating children with EBD placed within the care system. You will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive atmosphere and helping with the every day living of the children .

Duties & responsibilities:
To provide care and control of all children and young people at a level not less than is expected to be provided by good parents. Following guidance from internal documents such as the Statement of purpose, Polices & Procedures and children and young people's internal care planning documents.
To enhance and effect change to the good of all children with whom they work by acquiring the necessary skills through their own training and development.
To take part in the sleep-in duties so to meet the needs of our children and young people.
To sign up to the level 4 care certificate on completion of a successful probation
To exercise responsible control over the children to ensure their safety and well-being and assist them in developing acceptable standards of personal hygiene and behaviour. This also applies to encouraging children to abide by house rules and principles.
In accordance with plans for the day, to organise and supervise recreational and leisure activities both in the home to provide the children with an interesting and stimulating life. This includes being prepared to spend time away from home on holidays and at camps etc.
To be aware of the differing needs of the children and to respond to those needs in an appropriate and adult manner. All staff members are expected to provide the children with a role model as responsible and caring adult.
To log information correctly and provide detailed handovers at the end of shift
To take responsibility for writing up incident/accident forms and restraint forms as applicable and ensure that they are passed to the Registered Manager within agreed timescales (as per policy
To perform household duties as required. This includes cooking and general cleaning
sorting laundry, checking children bedrooms and encouraging them to keep their rooms tidy.

Successful applicants will have a minimum of 6 months experience in a support role and be able to provide satisfactory references and hold an advanced DBS.
