Research scientist: Cell Validation

Job Description

*Minimum of Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or similar field *Knowledge of Electrochemistry is required specialized knowledge on lithium-ion batteries is preferred *Fluent English

*2-3 years of battery related working experience (if only Master Degree) or 1-2 years of battery related working experience (if PhD degree) *1-2+ years of experience with battery development or battery analysis and testing *2+ years of experience of intensive laboratory work *2+ years of experience of data processing and analysis (tables, graphs, trends etc) *Scientific papers related to battery or battery materials RnD are bonus

*1+ year of work with basic e-chem instruments (cyclers, potentiostats, ARC testers, etc) *Experience with battery validation plan building with main e-chem techniques (such as Cycling, Pulse, DCIR/ACIR, EIS, HPPC).

*To build battery validation and testing programs, incl. external conditions such as pressure, temp, etc. *To perform electrochemical testing of batteries (coins, pouches, cylindrical) according to requests/testing protocols *To control battery testing processes timely react for critical testing data to prevent battery destruction *To keep environmental and safety chambers clean make sure testers performs well *To support/provide expertise during all activities related to electrochemical testing *To control that the results are properly organized, labelled/described, stored and back-uped *To manage the testing in external facilities (if in-house not possible) to assist with results analyses *To supervise and mentor technicians and students/interns *In collaboration with R&D, product developing and production team members to participate on troubleshooting the production issues *To identify and report non-conformities in testing protocols to support the necessary RCA and participate in investigation of final product failures or incidents *To prepare reports according to testing requests an appropriate technical level *To organize safe storage, handling, testing of batteries and battery materials in the laboratory follow to fire safety regulations and standards *To support the labs quality management system by ensuring that workflow is in line with company standards and/or other relevant accreditations *To follow all relevant health and safety regulations track if laboratory users follow the rules.
