Job Title: Floating Foundations Package Manager
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Salary: £80,000 to £100,000 Depending on experience.
Job Type: Full-time

Company Overview: Our client is a leading developer in the floating offshore wind energy market. We are seeking a Lead Floating Foundations Engineer to join the team. This role is crucial for the development of a large floating Offshore Wind Project. As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the foundation selection process, providing technical input for site selection, producing project specifications, managing consultants and contractors, and contributing to contract and reporting documents.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing engineering support for offshore wind site selection and participating in technical meetings.
  • Focusing on floating offshore wind projects and aiding their commercialization.
  • Leading the design and analysis of floating substructures, mooring, and anchoring systems across various project stages (PreFEED, FEED, and Detail Design).
  • Conceptualizing offshore wind parks and transmission assets.
  • Managing the procurement of front-end civil engineering, such as geotechnical investigations, met ocean studies, and foundation designs.
  • Translating engineering challenges into CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.
  • Offering technical expertise and guidance to consultant engineers and team members.
  • Identifying and mitigating foreseeable risks associated with substructure mooring and anchors.
  • Ensuring effective collaboration and compliance among Designers.
  • Conducting regular audits and ensuring Designer compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Engaging technically with external stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and utility companies.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams working on projects.
  • Providing input on the technical aspects of Employer's Requirements for EPC and Consultant contracts.

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Proven experience in offshore wind projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering/Naval Architecture or relevant offshore engineering discipline.
  • Experience in floating foundations design or installation.
  • Familiarity with offshore wind site selection and installation.
  • Knowledge of offshore wind foundation types, ground conditions interpretation, and installation procedures.
  • Proficiency in foundation design, dynamic analysis (floating systems), hydrodynamics, and structural dynamics.
  • Familiarity with international structural and marine design codes and standards.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate engineering challenges into CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.
  • Experience in technical document preparation and bid evaluation.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, particularly offshore.
