Our client is a leading facilities management company, is seeking a skilled Fabric Engineer to join our team based in Collindale. This static position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with relevant experience to contribute to our diverse range of maintenance projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Building Fabric Maintenance: Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks related to building fabric, including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and windows, to ensure they are in good condition and meet safety standards.

  2. Repairs and Renovations: Conduct repairs, replacements, and renovations on building fabric elements as necessary, addressing issues such as cracks, leaks, damage, and wear and tear.

  3. Carpentry and Joinery: Perform carpentry and joinery tasks, such as installing or repairing doors, door frames, skirting boards, and architraves, to maintain and enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of buildings.

  4. Painting and Decorating: Carry out painting and decorating work, including surface preparation, painting, and wallpapering, to refresh and enhance the appearance of building interiors and exteriors.

  5. Plastering and Rendering: Apply plaster and render to walls and ceilings as required, ensuring smooth and even finishes and addressing any imperfections or damage.

  6. Flooring Maintenance: Maintain various types of flooring, including tiles, laminate, vinyl, and carpet, by repairing damage, replacing worn-out sections, and cleaning and treating surfaces as needed.

  7. Glazing and Window Maintenance: Repair or replace broken glass panes and damaged window frames, as well as sealant and weatherproofing work to prevent leaks and drafts.

  8. General Handyman Tasks: Assist with general maintenance tasks as required, including basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs, to support overall building maintenance operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar fabric engineering role, with knowledge of building fabric maintenance and repair techniques.

  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry, painting, plastering, or other related trades.

  • Strong practical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality workmanship.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
