Job Description


A leading Multifamily Developer are in search for a Vice President of Construction to service the Austin and surrounding markets. You will be working closely with the Development team to ensure a plan is based on project vision, development programs, business plans, and financial models. This business critical role will be responsible in spearheading the Projects division and construction teams consisting of the following: Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Superintendent as well as their direct reports (Assistant Superintendents, Contract Administrators, Field Coordinators and Labor Foremen). More duties and responsibilities are listed below:

- Maintain relationships with local general contractors and subcontractors.
- Develop internal project budgets and schedules and oversee all contractor pricing and scheduling exercises.
- Effectively coordinate and manage consultants and contractors throughout the development process.
- Oversee vertical construction.
- Develop and manage vertical development contracting and procurement strategy-
- Track project schedules and monitor progress and delays.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, including preparation of monthly capital calls, loan draw packages and lender and/or investor reports.
- Review consultant and contractor invoices for accuracy and compare them to applicable proposals/contracts.
- Manage internal project managers working on the project, as well as other internal resources and staff.
- Coordinate, manage and lead project design and construction meetings.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular project reporting internally and to project investors, partners, and lenders.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- MBA or Masters degree preferred but not required
- 8+ years of related real estate, construction, or project management experience.
- Strong quantitative background in construction, including budgeting, scheduling, permitting, construction, and project management.
