Senior Practitioner | Children's Safeguarding Team | Oxfordshire

  • Qualified Social Worker / Social Work Professional required to join a statutory Family Support and Protection Service (Safeguarding Team)
  • Hybrid working
  • £42ph
  • £100 per week, accommodation allowance
  • Office base: South - Farringdon and Wantage
  • You must have a social work qualification and full SWE registration as well as relevant experience to be considered

How are cases allocated?
Families are allocated to Social Workers by the Family Solutions Plus Managers.
The majority of families will have had a Child and Families Assessment completed in the Integrated Assessment Service.
The families will transfer into our service being supported within the framework of a Child in Need or Child Protection plans.
"There are some families that transfer as Children We Care For however, this is minimal." We are looking for experienced workers who have recent safeguarding experience.

What practice model is used?
"We are a Family Safeguarding Model."

Will I have access to training?
"There will be an induction.
My expectation would be that any agency workers will be experienced in Assessment, long term and Court work."

Is there support available?
"Supervision is provided on a minimum 4 weekly basis.
We also have Team Meetings and daily Tasking Meetings.
There are always managers and practitioners available to support.
Our senior managers are also very supportive, approachable and available."

How often will I need to be in the office?
"The minimum requirement is for duty is that you are in the area.
They would also need to be present for supervision, Team Meetings and anything else required to meet the needs of the service and to support colleagues."

How does the duty rota work?
We continually cover the area

What is parking at the office like?
"There is parking at all of the offices in the South."

What is the team like?

"The teams are very friendly, welcoming and inclusive of agency colleagues. We work as a team and are very supportive of each other."

Is there anything specific about this role / team that would attract new staff?

"We are a highly supportive and inclusive Service area with committed and dedicated managers and practitioners that ensure children are central to all our thinking and decision making. We have high expectations and aspirations to support our children, young people and families to thrive."

To be considered, it is essential that you have a recognised Social Work qualification (Social Work Degree or Diploma in Social Work) and full Social Work England registration as well as recent or significant relevant experience in a similar role.
