Job Description
We have an opening for an experienced Controls Systems Engineer to join in a unique role focused on providing precise cost estimations and analysis for automation material handling projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate and estimate costs associated with various controls system activities including software, hardware, documentation, installation, and more.
In this position, you will:
- Develop costing models and estimates for controls system components of automation projects
- Conduct risk analysis on cost estimations
- Survey facilities and work with engineering teams to gather specifications
- Evaluate project requirements and provide guidance on optimisation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of controls systems costs and technology trends
- Document processes and methodologies to serve as team standards
The ideal candidate has:
- 5+ years experience specifying or implementing automated controls systems
- Knowledge of PLC programming and electrical design tools
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Attention to detail with solid organisational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments
