The MARU Team (Multi-Agency Referral Unit) in Cornwall are recruiting a highly motivated and talented Social Worker with experience in Children's Services to join their team. As a temporary member of staff you will be considered an integral part of this team. Truro is in a beautiful part of the South West on the coast. 37 hours a week, 3 month+ contracts on a rate of £34.00 ph in a small well managed team with high staff retention.

The team operates a county wide multi-agency approach, operating effectively and efficiently to deliver the best possible outcomes for children, young people and families.

You will be required to act quickly, in a coordinated and consistent way. So working well under pressure and to tight deadlines will be an expectation. You will have the ability to write succinct evidence based reports and present social care information and issues that can impact on the risk or needs assessment of the child/young person. This may involve disclosing proportionate and relevant information related to the parents/cares or siblings. Although at times this role can be highly demanding, it is an office based role with minimal travel. This is a fantastic opportunity, especially for somebody who would like to step away from a case holding team and community visits.
You will be SWE registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
