Engineering Site Maintenance Manager

Location: Doncaster

Salary : £48,000 - £50,000

Shift : Days only

One of our highly prestigious clients based worldwide are hiring Site Maintenance Manager for their facility based in Doncaster. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse in a safe and effective manner. You will be expected to follow health and safety guidelines, implement management instructions, and carry out repairs, breakdowns, and planned preventative maintenance. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining an awareness of Health and Safety matters and risks assessments associated with the role. Any experience with CNC machinery will be very advantageous.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the Engineering Manager to agree on performance standards for the job role and prepare working procedures and safe systems of work, where appropriate.
  • Prioritize repairs, breakdowns, and planned preventative maintenance, coordinating the daily/weekly activities of the maintenance team.
  • Report any equipment faults or malfunctions that cannot be dealt with by yourself to the Engineering Manager.
  • Due to a small working team, assist some of the engineers with large breakdowns or covering holidays (60% hands on role, 40% office based)
  • Carry out sprinkler system inspections and operational checks.
  • Ensure that "maintenance only" areas within the warehouse, and other plant and equipment, remain clean, and keep the maintenance stores and workshop areas tidy.
  • Maintain all materials handling equipment and ensure the efficient operation of the Building Management System.
  • Understand the objectives contained in the company's Safety Document fully.
  • Undertake accident investigations when necessary, with assistance from H&S Advisors, and implement appropriate preventative action.
  • Deal with any inquiries relating to possible equipment failures and relay these to the necessary department.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring standards are maintained at all times.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience of working within a similar role
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experience of working within a high-pressured environment
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in engineering (electrical or mechanical)
