We are currently looking for a PCB Assembly Engineer for our Research Department of our client`s new R&D center in Athens, Greece. The PCB Assembly Engineer will participate in overseeing the assembly and manufacturing processes of printed circuit boards (PCBs) in our new cutting-edge pilot line. You will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure the seamless delivery and commissioning of the equipment as well as the design teams to ensure optimal product introduction.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include: -Requirements Definition and equipment deployment: Work along different internal teams to define and consolidate equipment related requirements and specifications. Participate in FAT and SAT equipment processes. -Assembly Process Engineering: Develop, implement, and optimize PCB assembly processes, including surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole, and conformal coating. Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing workflows. -Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless communication and alignment throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle. -Component Evaluation and Selection: Collaborate with design teams to review bill of materials (BOMs) and assist in component selection and placement for optimal manufacturability. -Evaluate components from reputable suppliers. -Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain SMT and other assembly equipment, including pick-and-place machines, soldering stations, and reflow ovens. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime. -Quality Control and Inspection: Establish and execute quality control procedures to verify accurate component placement, soldering quality, and overall product integrity. Conduct visual inspections and functional tests to ensure compliance with industry standards, including IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001, or IPC-A-610. -Support: Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, equipment settings, and quality control procedures. Generate work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assembly technicians.

Job requirements: -Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. -Candidate must have experience in a robotic automated manufacturing environment along with -PCB design experience or experience in PCB assembly processes, including SMT, through-hole and conformal coating. -Experience with PCB design principles, component placement, and soldering techniques is a plus. -Experience with quality control methods and inspection tools for PCB assembly is a plus. -Experience with any of the following: IEC 61340, ISO 14644, ISO 16232, IPC-1601, J-STD-033 or IPC-A-610 standards is a strong plus. -Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities. -Strong problem-solving skills and positive mentality when tackling new problems and issues. -Fluency in English, and additional European languages are a plus. -Fulfilled military obligations (where applicable). -EU work permit (where applicable).
